the painting. The painting itself is main-subject
, almost neutral figuration has a minor
role in-these works--
Series "Garden of Lust" (1996)
Following after the 'Paintings' Paintings'-series, this series brings
back a little figuration in the paintings. Meaning: The figurative parts
are more prominent and, quite crucial to the meaning of the painting.
About the 1996 works & onward:
After this period of experiments till 1996, it is no longer necessary
to isolate the questions about shape from the (distracting) figurative
elements. Achievements from the past (knowing now, how to use abstract
elements in the design of the painting) are combined with obvious figurative,
almost photographic elements.
